I am anyBODY and I can do this.

We have finally launched our new "anyBODY Runners" section!

This section will feature runners of different abilities, levels of experience, backgrounds, shapes and sizes.  We at For The Love Of The Run truly believe that anybody who wants to run can do it.  Who are these runners?  They are anyBODY.  Just like you.

Click on the photo to read Christina's inspiring story.  This is a woman who could not keep up with the Couch to 5k program when she first started running.  What is she doing now?  She is about to start training for her fourth half marathon.

Tweet Chat With Me On 5/23

So....  On May 23 at 4pm PST (7pm EST) I am co-hosting a Tweet Chat with the Instead Softcup peeps.

If you are participating in my Instead Softcup Challenge (it is NOT too late to sign up.  So go do it!) please try and make some time to join us.  I'd like to chat about more than just menstruation and we can make this happen if there is strength in our numbers. Also, this is a good time to ask any questions you might have about Instead Softcup.  I think they'll have quite a few high exalted grand puba experts standing by to answer any and all questions on the topic.

A Giveaway For No Other Reason Than To Give Something Away!

Remember when we did weekly giveaways?  That was fun.  Then this site got all serious and whatnot.  My how far we have come.  So here is a giveaway (well, two actually) just because I love reading everyone's comments.  Enter!

Let's see... What have we got?
Hmmm... just in time for the start of summer, we have the Remington Body and Bikini Kit.

Sunburn On A Cloudy Day (NJ Marathon Race Review)

There is no better way to experience a mix humility and pride than to stand among thousands waiting for the start of a marathon.  For most of us, the competition is between self and self.  Something within us knows we can do this.  That same something has a little doubt.  That same something promises a steady strong run.  Yet that same something is already offering consolation for a nice try, promising that if desired aspirations are not met, that there will be other opportunities.

P friggin' R, yo (Personal Record) at the New Jersey Marathon

I will write a long, drawn out overly detailed race report on the New Jersey Marathon very soon.

New Jersey Marathon is now my PR race. (It's nice and flat so it could be your PR race too if you, perhaps.) Five minutes and thirteen seconds off of my Lake Placid time had me and my knee high socks and slightly too short running shorts crossing the finish in 4:35:39. I conquered my fear of hyponatremia happening to me again. I have a lot of props to give for that, and I will in my real race report.

It's All About (VIBRAM) Soles....

In addition to adding an "AnyBODY Runner" section to this blog where we will share inspiring (or grueling) stories about runners of all shapes/sizes/backgrounds/abilities we are going to add a section that is specifically dedicated to shoe reviews.

When I came home yesterday (after a lovely dinner at a new found Thai joint) and saw a BIG BOX sitting on my antique bench on the front porch, I literally jumped up and down and shrieked with excitement.
